Nurse Rostering via Mixed-Integer Programming

Nurse scheduling is a topic widely studied due to its overall effect on patient care and hospital performance. This research focuses formulating Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) workforce model as nurse rostering problem. The incorporates multiple objectives of individual preference qualification. approached by categorizing nurses into different hierarchical levels based their qualifications positions; Head Nurse, Senior Assistant Nurse. Moreover, each nurse’s holiday preferences are accounted for in the model. proposed MIP solved generate schedule meet demand preferences. A solver using Python 3 was used find optimal solution cutting planes. sensitivity analysis computational results reflect scenarios fit all environments demands.
